Back to The First Hire

The First Hire solves one specific capacity gap. Sometimes the gap is bigger.

I earned my MPA at NYU Wagner and spent over a decade inside nonprofit communications teams. I know what it takes to make a small team work when every person is wearing several hats, and how to spot the difference between one person needing support and a function that needs rebuilding. The First Hire organizes one person’s recurring tasks in a system built around how they work. When the need reaches across strategy, systems, team capability, or an ongoing channel, these are the other ways I step in.

Custom Builds & Fractional CMO

Sometimes it’s not one role that’s missing — it’s the whole layer underneath your team. I can build the strategy, content, and systems infrastructure your team needs over 3–6 months, or stay on as a fractional CMO to lead the work alongside you.

Team Training

The First Hire gives one person a working system in Notion and Claude. If the goal is a whole staff that’s fluent in both tools—not dependent on one person to keep things running—I train teams directly, scoped to how your organization actually works.

Google Ad Grant Membership

Google gives qualifying nonprofits up to $10,000 a month in search ad credit — most never use all of it, and fewer keep it compliant without help. I set up the account, wire up conversion tracking, and stay on call every month so it keeps running without becoming one more thing on your plate.

Not sure which one fits?

Send a short note about what a normal month looks like at your organization. I’ll tell you honestly which of these makes sense — including if the answer is none of them yet.
